Food and Drink

Barramundi

Although fish and chips are popular in Australia, fresh barramundi – which means ‘large-scaled river fish’ in the Aboriginal language – is a must-try. Grilled, fried or seared skin-side first and served with a herbed oil, it can be found in restaurants across the country.

Chicken Parmigiana

This classic Aussie chicken dish has roots in Italian-American cuisine and is a pub classic. The ultimate comfort food, the dish consists of chicken schnitzel topped with tomato sauce, ham and melted cheese.

Traditional Aussie BBQ

From sausages (also known as 'snags') to pork, steak to lamb, an Australian BBQ never disappoints! Perfect for a get-together, occasions such as Easter and Christmas are popular times to enjoy a BBQ, though you can find barbecued food year-round in the Land Down Under.
