Holidays recommended just for you

Food and Drink

Paella

Paella is said to have originated in Valencia, on Spain's eastern coastline, where it's traditionally made with meat and cooked on an open fire. It is recognised as the national food of Spain and is a must-try!

Gazpacho

Gazpacho is a quintessentially Andalucian dish, and is now common throughout Spain. Best described as a cold tomato soup, you have to try it to find out why a seemingly simple dish is such a tasty favourite!

Jamon

One of the most famous Spanish foods, jamón is a cured ham made from either mountain pig or black Iberian pig. The best ham should be enjoyed in thin, melt-in-your-mouth slices on its own, with a little bread.

Planning your trip

With so much on offer, you might need some inspiration! We’ve hand-picked a selection of favourite destinations and provided an overview of the very best highlights...

Retiro Park

El Retiro Park is a green oasis in the heart of the city and was a royal property up until the end of the 19th century. You’ll find many beautiful gardens and fascinating monuments, including the moment to Alfonso XII, the Jardín de Vivaces, the Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez and the Parterre Francés, which holds what is believed to be the oldest tree in Madrid.
