A long holiday, with a VERY tight Itinerary. I would not recommend this holiday to anyone who has circulatory problems because of the hours spent travelling the distance between New York to Canada, and then as far south as Miami. Porterage was mostly good, depending upon the hotel's location. There were no problems experienced. Visiting the cities was mostly a good experience, but sometimes the time spent in them was a bit short. The Optional activities were enjoyable, especially in Niagara and New Orleans. This was a 'taster' holiday. The hotels were very good, but not always near enough to the places of interest. Memorable moments? Lunch in the revolving restaurant on top of the tower overlooking Niagara Falls; views from the top of the CN Tower in Toronto; Dinner aboard a working paddle steamer in New Orleans, and the unexpected excessive heatwave of June, (up to 114 degrees in New Orleans)! There were other optional, and included activities. Night and day photography in Washington was one of my reasons for taking the trip, so that was really great for me. It always disappoints me that meals, even breakfasts are not included in American holidays, so ensure you have plenty of funds, and are willing to queue, along with around 40 other people at stopping off places. Credit cards and cash are accepted, though one hotel had a notice that they only accept credit cards in their restaurant. If you are assertive enough, like me, you can overcome this by presenting cash as their only option! They may huff about it, but their alternative is that you get a free meal if you don't have a credit card and they won't accept your cash, which they eventually do!
